Through writing, images and other media we articulate ideas, record experience, construct identities and pass on memory. As artificial intelligence enters these processes, the relationship between thought and expression is changing: how do we organise and understand our own thinking, and what new forms appear when personal experience and collective narrative become data? Under the 2026 Inquiry, The Future Is Behind Us, ARTIFACT Futures brings the three Builders it backs, Creader, Everlasting AI and GH Lab, to West Bund, to explore how human thought is recorded, reconstructed and carried forward, and how technology widens the edges of expression.

One booth, three young companies and a question we have carried since London. Each works on a different part of the same thing: how a thought is written down, how a memory is kept, how an idea takes a new digital shape. Come, look, and ask.
