A pre-seed investment and storytelling partnership for founders, artists, and cultural practitioners building at the intersection of technology and human experience.

Launching at London Tech Week, June 2026.

The Premise

The tools arrived faster than the thinking did.

In the span of a few years, artificial intelligence has become infrastructure — woven into how people write, create, learn, remember, communicate, and understand themselves. And most of the companies building it are still working out how to talk about what they are actually doing.

That gap — between what a technology does and what it means — is where ARTIFACT lives. Spark was built for the founders, artists, and cultural practitioners who feel it too.

What SPARK Is

Spark is not a standard accelerator. It is a partnership shaped by the particular character of each founder and each project.

The space we are drawn to is deliberately wide: founders building tools that expand what creative practitioners can do; platforms that give underrepresented voices new reach and new permanence; systems that make cultural knowledge more accessible, more durable, or more strange and alive than it was before; products that reimagine learning, attention, memory, or the way communities make meaning together; new interfaces between human and machine intelligence built with a clear sense of what human intelligence is actually for.

The common thread is not a category but a quality of ambition — the sense that the work carries stakes beyond its market size, and that building it well means thinking seriously about those stakes rather than deferring them.

What We Offer

Investment Selected founders receive a modest early-stage investment from ARTIFACT Futures — as a meaningful first cheque rather than a round, and accompanied by the deeper resources below.

Narrative Partnership Working sessions to develop the narrative architecture of your project — how your work is named, framed, and understood by the investors, communities, and institutions that need to encounter it.

Editorial & Visibility Access Opportunities to contribute to and be featured in ARTIFACT Futures's journal and public programming. Formats include essays, interviews, case studies, public dialogues and presentations, facilitating wider discussion among culture, technology, and institutional sectors.

Network Active introductions across our networks in the arts, culture, research, media, and investment communities in the United States, China, the Middle East, and Europe.

Who Should Apply

Spark is open to founders, artists, and cultural practitioners at the pre-seed and early stage, working anywhere in the world.

Technologists who started with a technical insight and arrived somewhere more interesting than they expected. Artists and practitioners building at the edge of what technology, including AI, makes possible for human expression. Cultural projects with genuine ambition and no obvious home in conventional funding structures. First-time founders and those who have been here before.

We do not ask anyone to already be fluent in the other's language — only to be curious about what their work means, and serious about finding out.

Geography and perspective matter to us. The AI conversation has been shaped by a narrow set of cultural assumptions about what intelligence is, what memory is for, what the relationship between individual and collective looks like. Founders building from different vantage points — different languages, histories, aesthetic traditions, and ways of understanding personhood and community — are working on something the field genuinely needs, whether the field has registered that yet or not.

What we are looking for, above all, is genuine ambition. The conviction that what is being built matters — and the willingness to figure out together exactly why.

Apply

The inaugural cohort is small and carefully selected.

Applications are open now.

If you are building, making, or thinking at the frontier of technology and human experience — and you want a partner who takes both the technical ambition and the cultural stakes seriously — we want to hear from you.
