Chen Qiufan

Chen Qiufan is a science fiction writer and futurist, and a winner of the Chinese Nebula and Galaxy awards. His novel Waste Tide, drawn from the e-waste sites near his hometown of Shantou, has been translated into more than seven languages; AI 2041, written with Kai-Fu Lee, was a book of the year for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and the Financial Times.

He is president of the World Chinese Science Fiction Association and teaches at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. His recent work turns to climate, planetary intelligence and writing alongside AI. He studied at Peking University.
