Annette Mees

Annette Mees is an artistic director and creative producer who makes theatre, art and publications that imagine possible futures. She co-founded the interactive theatre company Coney and led Audience Labs, the Royal Opera House’s innovation department, where Current, Rising, billed as the world’s first opera in hyper-reality, won at the 2021 VR Awards.

She now runs Audience Labs as an artist-led lab. Recent work includes Impossible Theatres, The European Pavilion 2024: Liquid Becomings, which she co-curated, and David Finnigan’s Deep History, which she directed at The Public Theater in New York.
